Quoted by Sputnik, Oman’s ambassador to Egypt Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Rahbi emphasized that Iran has declared its readiness to resume relations with Egypt and resolve the FIMA disputes after Oman’s mediation.
He further added that during the visit of King Haitham bin Tariq of Oman to Tehran, the Iranian authorities emphasized their readiness to resume these relations and put aside differences that are in the interest of the nations of the region.
Al-Rahbi added: The visit of the King of Oman to Egypt was also made in line with efforts to mediate between Tehran and Cairo and resume bilateral relations between them.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had previously announced that the relations between Egypt and Iran are the same as before and Cairo is following the developments in the relations between Tehran and the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf.
