Iran sanctioned a number of individuals and institutions of the European Union.
In a statement today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran sanctioned 8 entities and 12 individuals in the European Union for their deliberate actions in supporting terrorism and promoting and inciting terrorism, violence and hatred.
Nasser Kanani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, strongly condemned the new sanctions list of the European Union on October 25 and announced that soon reciprocal sanctions will be applied and announced against relevant European individuals and institutions. It should be noted that, on 25 October, the European Union sanctioned several Iranian institutions and officials in support of the recent disturbances in Iran. The Minister of Communications of Iran, the Moral Security Police, the police force and the IRGC’s cyber department are among the individuals and institutions that were included in the list of these sanctions. In today’s statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is stated: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the approvals of the relevant authorities and within the framework of the relevant rules and sanctions mechanisms, and as a reciprocal action, the following institutions and individuals in the European Union due to their deliberate actions in support of Terrorism and terrorist groups, promotion and incitement to terrorism and violence and hate speech that have caused unrest, violence, terrorist acts and human rights violations against the Iranian nation are under sanctions.
According to this statement, the institutions that are under sanctions:
– The so-called “Friends of Free Iran” group and its members in the European Parliament;
– The International Committee in Search of Justice (ISJ) and members;
– Stop the Bomb organization;
– German Deutsche Welle Persian network (Deutsche Welle Persian);
– RFI Persian network of France (RFI Persian);
– French International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism (LICRA);
– German Karl Kolb Co., supplier of chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein’s regime;
– Germany’s Rhein Bayern Fahrzeugbau Co., supplier of chemical gases to Saddam Hussein’s regime.
