A Zionist newspaper wrote in a report referring to the signing of a strategic document on Iran-China cooperation that this agreement is bad news for the Zionist regime.
The Zionist newspaper “Jerusalem Post” in a report reviewed the strategic document of cooperation between Iran and China and wrote that this cooperation is bad news but can be worse for Israel.
“When the details of the 25-year multibillion-dollar security and economic agreement between Iran and China were revealed last summer, the Jerusalem Post wrote in an article that the proposed Iran-China agreement was bad news for Israel. “Now that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi signed the agreement in Tehran on Saturday, this agreement is still not a good thing for Israel to worry about.”
According to the Jerusalem Post, what is more, important at this point than the content of the agreement (Iran-China Deal) is the message that is being sent at the moment, and the message is that Beijing and Tehran have not taken the United States seriously.
Karas Witt, executive director of the Signal Institute, which investigates relations between Israel and China, said Monday that the agreement was 100 percent a statement to the United States.
“The manner in which the agreement was published has much more to do with the Chinese calculations against the United States than their actual dependence and interest in Iran,” said Shira Enron, a special adviser to the Rand Institute.
China has been very cautious in the past because of US sensitivity in its relations with Iran, but recent events have led Beijing to abandon those cautions.
Last week, the United States, Britain, the European Union, and Canada boycotted several senior Chinese officials for allegedly violating Uyghur rights in Xinjiang.
The sanctions came just days after Wang’s verbal altercation with his US counterpart Anthony Blinken in Alaska. China also responded to Western action by boycotting a number of its officials.
Karaswith believes that Beijing sees the agreement with Tehran as another way to stand up to the United States.
After meeting with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Wang criticized US policy toward his country and Iran, saying: “It should reflect and lift unilateral sanctions against Iran as soon as possible and suspend action against China.”
The Jerusalem Post continued: “Iran remains under maximum pressure from the Trump administration since 2018, and the Biden administration has stated that it will only return to the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan (JCPOA) if Iran “Return to adherence to this agreement.”
Iran has repeatedly responded to the US request, saying that Tehran will not stop reducing its obligations until the United States lifts sanctions against Iran.
Tehran has stressed that there is no precondition for resuming Washington’s commitments to the UN Security Council and that the country must act first.
The recent agreement between Tehran and Beijing is a reaction to the continuation of sanctions against Tehran
Shira Enron believes that the recent agreement between Iran and China showed their leverage and impatience in response to the continuation of sanctions against Tehran.
“Israel has been a very small part of the rivalry between the US and China, which is currently taking place in Iran, but Witt says Beijing is aware that Israel may express its concern about the deal.
