In a report on the personal and political life of martyr Khizr Adnan, the Al-Mayadeen website wrote: “Khizr Adnan was martyred at the age of 44 while he was on an 87-day hunger strike in protest against his arrest against the Zionist forces.”
Khizr Adnan was martyred in a small room in Ramleh prison clinic while he was in a very serious physical condition. He started his hunger strike after the first hours of his arrest on February 5 and after the Zionist soldiers raided his home in the Jenin camp.
Martyr Adnan was born on March 24, 1978 in Araba area located in Jenin. He completed his studies in Araba and entered Birzeit University in Ramallah. In 2001, he got his degree in economics. Martyr Adnan started his political life by joining the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement.
He was arrested for the first time by the forces of the Palestinian Authority for encouraging the throwing of stones at the Prime Minister of France during his visit to Birzeit University in 1998.
Zionist soldiers arrested him while he was studying at the university and spent 4 months in prison. Martyr Adnan was once again arrested by these soldiers and spent another year in prison.
Palestinian Authority forces arrested Martyr Adnan in October 2010, which lasted for 12 days.
The longest hunger strike of Martyr Adnan before his last strike was in December 2011 and for 65 days in the prisons of the Zionist regime in protest against his administrative detention, which was finally released in April 2012.
During the latest attack on Sheikh Khizr Adnan’s house, the Zionist soldiers insulted this noble martyr in front of his 9 children. His wife announced that Martyr Adnan told the Zionist soldiers from the first moment of his arrest that he neither eats nor drinks water.
In total, Zionist soldiers had arrested Martyr Adnan 14 times in 9 years. Entering the battle of hunger strike, this martyr announced to everyone that he never surrendered to the fascist decisions of the Zionist regime and took back his freedom from them.
Martyr Adnan started the first stage of his hunger strike in the Gaza Strip in 2005 and this stage lasted 25 days in protest against his placement in solitary confinement.
The second phase began at the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012, which lasted for 65 days, after which he managed to end his administrative detention by the Zionist military.
