Pakistan’s envoy to the United Nations said the country had formally applied to attend a Security Council meeting on Afghanistan, but India did not allow the Pakistan to attend.
According to the regional office of Tasnim news agency, “Munir Akram”, the representative of Pakistan in the UN, stated that India, as the chairman of the UN Security Council, did not allow Pakistan to attend the recent meeting of the council on Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s representative told a news conference that his official request to attend the meeting had been rejected by India.
According to Down News, Akram went on to deny allegations by Afghan and Indian officials that terrorists were using Pakistani territory against Afghanistan, and warned of efforts to divert the Afghan peace process from its main course.
A special meeting of the UN Security Council on Afghanistan was held last Friday with the participation of representatives of its member states, including the United States, Britain, Russia, China and India.
Pakistani National Security Adviser Muayed Yusuf told The Wire two weeks ago that the Indian government was sending troops to Afghanistan under the guise of contractors to develop terrorism in order to bring terrorism to Pakistan.
