The Prime Minister of Pakistan welcomed the remarks of the President of Russia that “if someone insults the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH], it can not be considered freedom of expression.”
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin that “if anyone insults the Prophet Muhammad, it cannot be considered freedom of expression.”
The Russian president had stated that such actions could lead to further hatred and extremism.
Putin told an annual news conference that insulting the Prophet was a “violation of religious freedom and an insult to the feelings of Muslims.”
According to him, artistic freedom also has limitations and should not violate the freedom of others. The publication of insulting images of religious figures incites their loved ones to violence.
Imran Khan added: “I welcome the words of President Putin, who emphasizes that insulting the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, is not” freedom of speech. “
According to Khan, we Muslims, especially Muslim leaders, must convey this message to the leaders of the non-Islamic world to combat Islamophobia.
