Hezbollah addresses Riyadh: Preserving the Arab identity is in defense of the Palestinian resistance and cause.
Hezbollah’s media relations official stressed that the scale of having an Arab identity is the defense of the Palestinian people and its resistance as the first and most complete Arab ideal.
Speaking at a ceremony honoring a group of Lebanese journalists in the town of Tire, he said: “Hezbollah is accused of its positions and they say that the situation in the country has escalated to the point of severing ties with the Arab world, and this is an obvious lie.”
Afif called the Palestinian cause the most comprehensive and the first Arab ideal and said: “Hezbollah is close to Palestine and the scale of defending the Arab identity of the Palestinian people and the resistance and its martyrs, wounded and captives.”
Asked if only Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf are Arab, he said: “Aren’t Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Algeria and our brothers in the Arab Maghreb Arab? Why only Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf are a problem?”
The Hezbollah official stressed the need to maintain Lebanon’s relations with the Arab brother countries and said: “Relations with these countries are in Lebanon’s interest and the brother country, Syria, is Lebanon’s natural gateway to the Arab world.”
