According to Rossiyalium, eyewitnesses in Khartoum, Sudan, reported heavy clashes around the army headquarters in Khartoum this Saturday.
All kinds of weapons are used in these conflicts.
News sources announced that a thick plume of smoke rose into the air from the area.
On the other hand, the Sudanese army announced that it has handed over 30 prisoners under the age of 18 to the International Committee of the Red Cross.
The Sudanese army said that in the city of Omdurman, west of Khartoum, it handed over 30 teenagers who were captured by the army forces during the war with the Rapid Support Forces to the representatives of the Red Cross.
The statement of the Sudanese army said that the representatives of the Red Cross will hand over these teenagers to their families.
This is despite the fact that there has been no reaction from the Red Cross or the rapid support forces in this regard.
At the same time, the United Nations Office in Sudan, known as Unitams, announced a strong consultation with the army and rapid support forces in order to persuade them to a ceasefire.
The UNITOMS statement said: “Five months have passed since the conflict between the Sudanese armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces, and the UNITAMS office continues to be in constant contact with the parties to encourage them to adhere to the ceasefire in a serious manner and a permanent cessation of hostilities.”
It should be noted that since the middle of April, the Sudanese army and the rapid support forces have been engaged in war and the ceasefire efforts have not led anywhere. This war has left 5,000 dead, most of whom are civilians, and more than 12,000 people have been injured. More than 5 million people have been displaced due to this conflict.
