The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) welcomed the position of a Bahraini official refusing to shake hands with the Zionist ambassador, which led to his removal from his position.
The Hamas movement praised the position of May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, the head of the Bahrain Department of Culture and Antiquities, in refusing to shake hands with the Zionist ambassador, Eitan Naieh.
Hamas considered this action of the mentioned Bahraini official as an expression of the reality of the position of the original Bahraini people in supporting the rights of the Palestinians and opposing the integration of the occupying regime in the region as the central enemy.
Hazem Qassem, the spokesman of Hamas, said that the conscience of the nation will remain against any attempt to normalize relations with the Zionist regime.
According to the report of Al-Khalij Online website, he stated that Hamas appreciates May Al Khalifa’s position and his action to deal with the normalization of Bahrain’s relations with the Zionist regime.
On July 21, the King of Bahrain issued a decree after dismissing May Bint Muhammad Al Khalifa, the head of the Department of Culture and Antiquities, and introduced Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa as her replacement.
