Hamas reacts to today’s Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip.
In response to the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip this morning, a Hamas spokesman stated that the bombing of Gaza was a continuation of the aggression against the whole of Palestine.
Hazem Qasim, spokesman for the Hamas movement, said in an interview with Voice of Al-Aqsa Radio following the Zionist regime’s attack on the Gaza Strip: The last of which was the assassination of three resistance fighters from the city of Jenin.
According to the Palestinian news agency Shahab, he added: “With this aggression, the occupying regime is trying in vain and failing to stop the intensification of revolutionary action throughout Palestine.” The resistance will always be a shield for the Palestinian people everywhere and with its sword to strike its enemy. Despite this aggression, we will continue our legitimate struggle against the occupier until the goals of our nation in freedom and independence are achieved.
This morning (Saturday, June 18), after firing several rockets at the Zionist town of Asqalan, Zionist army fighters also targeted the central areas of Gaza. Israeli drones also targeted a resistance watchtower and agricultural land in the Queen’s area east of the Zaytoun neighborhood in eastern Gaza. Palestinian sources said the attacks had not resulted in any casualties so far.
Meanwhile, Hebrew-language media reported that the Israeli army fired on a group of Palestinians who were approaching the border barricades east of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Palestinian sources also reported that Israeli warships fired at Palestinian fishermen in northwestern Gaza.
