Resistance project
Regarding the resistance project, Al-Zahar said, “It is the right of the Palestinians to defend themselves everywhere with all means.” If the peaceful means fail, it is our right to arm ourselves in defense of our land and our sanctuaries. “
He continued: “Israel has an atomic bomb, so is it logical that the Palestinians do not have guns to defend themselves?” In particular, the PA has shied away from this task and turned to Israel on a wrong principle and a crime called security cooperation.
Al-Zahar then said that the Hamas project is a resistance against the Israeli occupier, not a war project; War is one of the tools of resistance.
He emphasized: “We do not want wars without reckoning and books, but we want the final war that will liberate our land, as many colonized countries liberated their land with resistance; We are preparing and equipping ourselves for this.
Al-Zahar said that the Palestinian resistance in the recent battle with the Zionist regime known as “Saif al-Quds” was able to provide a model for how to strike at the enemy and show how Palestine can be liberated if the conditions are right.
Exchange of prisoners Referring to the exchange of prisoners, he said that movements are continuing in this regard, but no final agreement has been reached so far.
Al-Zahar said: “There is no way to release our prisoners except with an agreement similar to the Shalit agreement in 2011.” Israel’s reliance on optimism is wrong, as waiting for Arab and Western intervention without entering into real negotiations has proved its failure.
He continued: “Israel is currently playing a security game and is making intelligence efforts and thinks that it can reach its captives free of charge.” We try to protect what we have (Israeli prisoners) and if the conditions are right to increase their number, we will do so.
Al-Zahar also said that no information will be given about the condition of these Zionist prisoners, whether they are alive or dead.
Normalize relations with the Israeli regime
The Hamas member welcomed any attempt to bring the Arab countries closer, saying that Hamas would not benefit from severing ties between the two countries, and that the only thing that was rejected was the closeness that led to an increase in the number of Arab countries discussing normalization. He added that he expects the countries that have normalized their relations with the Israeli regime to return in this way and come to the aid of the Palestinian people.
Last year, Bahrain, the UAE, Morocco and Sudan signed an agreement to normalize relations with the Zionist regime.
