Hamad bin Jassim: The developments in Sudan are the result of Israeli planning.
“What happened in Sudan is just one of the first results of planning, coordination and cooperation between Israel and one country,” former Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani was quoted as saying in two tweets on Friday, quoting Russia Today. “He is an Arab. Unfortunately, knowing that the Arab country was propagandizing in Western forums that it had changed its policy, it is now only thinking about its economy and development.”
Al-Thani continued: “My goal here is not to spread the news, but I want to emphasize that we must respect and support the will of the people and not interfere in imposing our policies and beliefs on others, whether successful or unsuccessful.”
Although he did not name the Arab country, bin Jassim’s speech coincides with a significant rapprochement between Israel and the UAE, which signed a peace treaty in September 2020 and strengthened bilateral relations in several areas.
October 25 – Sudanese army chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan declares a state of emergency and dissolves the Transitional Governing Council and the government. He also fired governors and arrested party leaders, ministers and officials amid ongoing popular protests against what he called a military coup.
