Haider al-Abadi: During the American occupation, the largest amount of dollars left Iraq.
Former Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said in a television interview that during the administration of American ruler Paul Bremer in Iraq (May 12, 2003 – June 28, 2004), more dollars were withdrawn from the country.
In an interview with the Iraqi UTV channel, he said that the number of dollars sold during the presence of the American occupying forces in Iraq and during the presidency of “Paul Bremer” increased sharply and was unprecedented in history.
This is despite the fact that Iraq has faced a crisis in the last year with the increase in the price of the dollar and a sharp increase in the price of food and services.
Paul Bremer, who represented George Bush from May 11, 2003, to June 28, 2004, was present in Iraq as the country’s president from May 21, 2002, to July 8, 2004, and had decisions and orders whose effects are still felt in the economic and Iraq remains political.
In 2007, Paul Bremer said in front of the congressmen that he made a mistake in making those decisions, and if he could go back in time, he would do it differently.
Haider al-Abadi, the former prime minister of Iraq, continued his interview and said that in 2015-2017, Iraq earned $130 billion in oil revenue.
He also said that the rumor of smuggling $260 billion in 2017 during his prime ministership is false, as total oil sales in the three years before that were half that amount.
