French parliament authorizes police to spy on citizens’ cellphones.
By passing a bill, French lawmakers allowed the country’s police to remotely spy on people and demonstrators by activating cameras, microphones and GPS on people’s mobile phones.
France, which presents itself to the world as the cradle of civilization and the birthplace of the “Declaration of Human Rights and Civilization”, is now seeking to violate the same freedom and human rights by spying on the mobile phones of its citizens.
French lawmakers approved a bill this morning (Thursday) that allows the French police to remotely spy on people by activating their cameras, microphones and GPS on mobile phones and other electronic devices.
According to “Daily Mail” website, the authorization of this spy, which is part of a larger bill to reform judicial laws, was approved at the request of “Eric Dupont Morety”, the French Minister of Justice, who claims that the law affects only a few dozen cases a year.
The scheme, which includes laptops, cars, mobile phones and other internet-connected objects, will reportedly allow the location of suspects in crimes punishable by at least five years in prison.
Under this law, the police and security agencies can remotely activate devices connected to the Internet of French people to record audio and images of people suspected of terrorist crimes, misdemeanors, and organized crimes.
According to the Daily Mail, a major French digital rights group responded to the plan by saying that it raises serious concerns about the violation of fundamental freedoms, the right to security, to have a life and private communications, saying that the plan is part of the French government’s move towards security suffocation. .
