Saudi Arabia has launched covert strikes on UAE, AFP quoted a close adviser to Abu Dhabi. A French news website has quoted UAE adviser close to the country’s officials as saying that Saudi Arabia had carried out covert strikes on the UAE.
“There have been some covert blows from our neighbor, but God willing, the situation will be under control,” said a close adviser to the UAE government, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
“We welcome competition,” he said, referring to the two countries’ differing positions on the future of oil production.
Referring to other differences between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, especially in the normalization of the UAE’s relations with the Zionist regime and Riyadh’s insistence on reconciliation with Qatar, the Emirati adviser said: “New coalitions are emerging in the region and there are two camps.”
Over the past few days, there have been disputes between Riyadh and Abu Dhabi over a number of issues, such as oil production, the normalization of relations with the Zionist regime, and the fight against the Corona virus.
Meanwhile, sources reported the escalation of disputes between Saudi Arabia and the UAE at various levels, which recently culminated in Abu Dhabi’s opposition to the Saudi-Russian agreement on oil production.
In the case of Yemen, on Tuesday, Saudi Arabia gave the green light to Ali al-Muhsin’s forces to attack Aden and confront the factions of the UAE-affiliated Transitional Council.
The UAE also withdrew part of its military in 2019 from the Saudi-led Arab coalition against Yemen. The UAE has also expressed concern about the reconciliation of the Gulf states with Doha.
Riyadh’s interaction with the Corona epidemic regarding restrictions on travel from Saudi Arabia to the UAE and vice versa has caused dissatisfaction among Abu Dhabi officials. The Saudis also do not accept the Chinese vaccine, which the UAE trusts.
