Former US Attorney General: Trump and his allies are guilty.
The former US military prosecutor said the former president was guilty and was leading a slow and steady coup.
Former United States President Donald Trump and his allies have committed a crime, former military prosecutor Glen Kirchner said on Saturday.
“This is a slow but steady coup by Donald Trump and many Republican allies, his insane entourage and his conspiracy theorists,” the former US official and current NBC News analyst said in a video message, according to Newsweek. “We are still in danger of losing everything.”
“If Trump and his entourage are not prosecuted for crimes they have undoubtedly committed, the Department of Justice has in fact authorized them to to repeat their crimes.
Following his defeat in the 2020 election, Trump filed allegations of electoral fraud and filed dozens of election irregularities in various states, all of which were dismissed.
In the meantime, even Republican judges and Attorney General William Barr have acknowledged that there was no evidence of effective fraud in the US presidential election.
However, on January 6, 2021, while a joint congressional hearing was under way to discuss Joe Biden’s victory in the election, Trump made a speech near the congressional building claiming that the election had been stolen and calling on his supporters to fight.
