Former American official: Washington is becoming a one-party dictatorship
Washington is moving towards a one-party dictatorship, says the former assistant secretary of the US Treasury.
Paul Craig Roberts, an economist and former assistant secretary of the US Treasury during Ronald Reagan’s presidency, said about the developments related to the FBI’s search of former US President Donald Trump’s home that America is becoming a one-party dictatorship.
Roberts, who is a supporter of Donald Trump, strongly attacked the recent FBI attack on Trump’s residence in Florida and described the accusations against him as “fake news”.
“The recent fake news that Trump stole national security documents is the fifth attempt by Democrats to impeach Trump,” he said.
He added: “First, they brought up Russiagate, then they tried to impeach him twice, then there was the January 6 riot, and now the issue of alleged theft of security documents has been raised. This is a Nazi type of purge. “The media supports this purge.”
Roberts further claimed that the attack on Tramad’s residence is part of the broader efforts of the American government to suppress and intimidate political opponents. “This purge has all the characteristics of a dictatorship,” he said.
He also stated that the FBI raid was a clear coup d’état to establish a one-party system.
The statements of this former official were raised while internal disputes in America have reached a peak. Not long ago, a group of former officials of the two Democratic and Republican parties established a new party called “Forward”, referring to the deadlocks and unprecedented political crises that America has faced.
An important part of the reasons that these three politicians think will make the Forward Party not suffer the fate of the previous parties are the crises that the American society is currently facing.
The note reads: “Political extremism has torn our country apart, and the two major parties have been unsuccessful in addressing this crisis. Last week, the select committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol made us relive one of the darkest days in American history. “The horrific attempt to stage an electoral coup in the United States is the strongest evidence that we are facing the possible collapse of our democracy.”
The note continues: “Polarization is fueling political intimidation.” “In the past two years, we have seen death threats and assassination plots against members of Congress, governors, Supreme Court justices, and even the vice president.”
The founders of the new party have expressed concern that “unless something is done, the United States will not reach its 300th birthday in a recognizable way this century.”
