Flooding in the state of “Kentucky” in the United States left hundreds of people missing and caused millions of dollars in infrastructure damage.
Hundreds of people have disappeared, at least 30 people have lost their lives, and millions of dollars have been damaged in the infrastructure following flooding in the state of “Kentucky” in the south of America.
The website of the “BBC” news channel wrote on Monday evening, Tehran time, that at least 30 people have died in the “Appalachia” region in eastern Kentucky. 6 children, including four siblings, are among the dead.
The governor of Kentucky said in this context that the number of dead is still increasing and the fate of hundreds of people is unknown.
Damage to roads, bridges and other infrastructure will require millions of dollars to repair, the Kentucky governor added. He said that he saw “destroyed houses” and “destroyed schools” during the field visit.
During this heavy flood, more than 12,000 households were left without electricity and hundreds of houses and shops were flooded. This is the worst flood that has been seen in the region in recent decades.
The governor of Kentucky also called this flood the “deadliest” and “most devastating” flood in his lifetime.
Displaced locals have taken refuge in parks, churches and mobile homes brought in by aid agencies.
