Fear of Yemeni operations also drew France to the aid of the UAE.
While announcing his country’s support for the UAE, the French Defense Minister announced Paris’ readiness to provide military support to Abu Dhabi.
The French Ministry of Defense announced today (Friday) that Paris will cooperate with Abu Dhabi to ensure the security of the UAE’s airspace in the face of operations by Yemeni forces.
According to Al-Ain news website, French Defense Minister Florence Parley tweeted that her country would assist the UAE government in securing its air borders, which are under attack by Yemeni forces.
Parley went on to claim that the Yemeni invasion of the UAE was dangerous, saying that the French government had decided to provide military support to Abu Dhabi to maintain its airspace in order to cooperate with the country.
Yesterday, French Defense Minister Thierry Bourdard also condemned the Yemeni forces’ attacks on the UAE and announced his country’s support for all necessary measures to return security to Abu Dhabi.
This Western support for the UAE started two weeks ago and continues while the United States is considering returning the name of the Yemeni Ansarullah resistance movement to its blacklist.
The Yemeni army and armed committees, meanwhile, have repeatedly warned Abu Dhabi of further operations and targeting key venues, including the Expo, while reiterating warnings to the UAE about its attacks on its people.
