Faisal Miqdad: It is a conspiracy of the United States and the West to jeopardize the Palestinian issue.
The Syrian foreign minister said that the United States and Western countries are conspiring to eliminate the issue of Palestine and the inalienable rights of the Syrian people, especially the right of return.
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad hosted Philip Lazarini, director of the Palestinian Refugee Relief and Employment Agency (UNRWA), this afternoon.
During the meeting, Meqdad stressed that Syria remains committed to supporting the Palestinian people, especially the displaced, in order to alleviate their problems despite the great pressure exerted on them by the Zionist regime and its Western backers, especially the United States.
“Syria is still plotting to destroy the Palestinian issue and the inalienable rights of its people, especially the right of return,” he said, noting that Syria is following the dangerous events in the occupied city of Jerusalem with concern.
The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted Miqdad as saying that these incidents are the result of crimes and blatant and organized aggression against worshipers that the Zionist military has been committing in the holy shrine since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Syrian foreign minister said that these crimes were being carried out in the shadow of US unlimited support for the Zionist regime and the international community, adding that Syria would provide enough support to carry out its mission for the Palestinian refugees in Syria.
