European Union: The solution to the Yemeni conflict is only political.
The European Union (EU) has said in a statement in response to the Yemeni military’s punitive attack on Abu Dhabi that the conflict in Yemen can only be resolved politically.
The European Union (EU) on Monday condemned an attack on a fuel storage facility near Abu Dhabi Airport.
“Attacks on civilian infrastructure are unacceptable,” the European Union said, without mentioning the crimes of the Saudi aggression coalition in Yemen and the killing of thousands of people in the country.
The European Union (EU) said in a statement that the attack undermines the risk of further escalation of the Yemeni crisis and ongoing efforts to end the war in the country.
“There can only be a political solution to the conflict in Yemen, and the European Union wants to avoid escalating tensions,” it said.
According to Fars News Agency, Emirati media sources reported today (Monday, January 17) that three oil tankers exploded in the Al-Masfa area in the UAE and a fire broke out afterwards. Al-Masfa is an industrial area located southwest of Abu Dhabi in the UAE.
Abu Dhabi police later confirmed the news, claiming that a small fire broke out in the new construction site at Abu Dhabi International Airport following the blast, and that no damage has been reported so far. However, the publication of images of the fire on social media showed that this is more than an accident.
Moments after the news broke, Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Sari implicitly claimed responsibility for the attack on Abu Dhabi Airport in a Twitter post, announcing that he would release details of the attack soon.
The Saudi coalition also claimed in a statement that it had spotted several drones taking off from Sanaa airport and had intercepted and destroyed three Yemeni drones.
