The European Union (EU) has blocked the Sputnik and Rasha Today telegram channels.
Following the Western media war against Russia, the European Union blocked the telegram channels of some Russian media outlets.
Russia’s Sputnik news agency reported that the European Union had blocked its telegram channels and Rasha Today television network.
According to Sputnik, the EU news service announced on Friday its decision to block Sputnik and Rasha Today’s telegram channels, despite claims to support freedom of expression and free media. The move comes days after the European Union continued to crack down on Russian media, Sputnik and Rasha Today’s international network.
Russia also reacted to sanctions on its media on Friday and will restrict the BBC, Deutsche Welle, Medusa and Suobuda, according to AFP.
The Russian media condemned the move, calling it a clear example of censorship and interference in the media.
In addition, Google, YouTube, and Facebook have made Russian media-related web pages inaccessible.
