African Union: Europe has not given Africa a single dose of the vaccine.
The EU is preparing for a second nationwide vaccination campaign, while the African Union has sharply criticized the EU for not adhering to the vaccine.
The delta mutant virus is spreading in many European countries and is delaying the plan to lift the restrictions.
German official: Delta virus has lower mortality
The latest Corona news in Europe suggests that the secretary general of the German Society of Pediatrics believes that the delta virus is less dangerous in terms of mortality and more contagious in terms of transmission. He said at an expert meeting in the German parliament on Thursday that the mutated virus was 60 percent more contagious than other strains.
Austria lifts travel restrictions
Austria is also canceling global corona travel warnings, which have been in place for about 15 months. Only a few regions with mutated viruses, including Brazil, South Africa, India or the United Kingdom, are on Corona’s red list, the foreign minister said.
African Union: Europe has not given us a single dose of the vaccine
The African Union also feels that it has been left alone in providing the corona vaccine by the European Union. The African Union’s special envoy for the corona vaccine said on Thursday that not a single dose of the vaccine and one ampoule had left European factories for Africa. He said there had been no deliveries since Europe promised to donate the vaccine to Africa.
Severe recession in the European film market
The aftermath of the Corona crisis has reduced the movie market in the EU and the UK by 70.2% to 300 million ticket sales. The news was announced by a relevant European institution on Thursday in Strasbourg. In 2019, cinema operators had more than one billion viewers, the highest level since 2004.
A mask that detects coronary heart disease
Researchers at Harvard University have developed a mask that can detect the corona virus in human inhalation and exhalation with a sensor. The accuracy of the mask’s data is as good as a standard corona detection test in the lab, but much less time consuming.
A team of American researchers at Harvard University has developed a mask to combat coronavirus that can detect a person with Covid 19. The group’s findings are published in the latest issue of the scientific journal Nature.
The mask is equipped with a sensor that detects the presence of corona virus in the inhaled and exhaled face of the masked person. The sensor is embedded in the tissue of the mask and collects the genetic information of viruses that accumulate on the inside of the mask by breathing, talking or coughing. A specific enzyme and a type of chemical then amplifies the collected genetic data and activates a specific substance to detect the corona virus. If there is a virus in the mask, the special substance will be colored.
The African Union and Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) have voiced “concern” after it emerged that Europe’s digital “green pass” does not recognize a vaccine that was donated to many African countries through the COVAX initiative.
In the EU, the vaccine called Covishield does not currently have a marketing authorization. Even though it may use an analogous production technology to Vaxzevria, Covishield as such is not currently approved under EU rules,” the EMA said.
“This is because vaccines are biological products,” the agency stated. “Even tiny differences in the manufacturing conditions can result in differences in the final product, and EU law therefore requires the manufacturing sites and production process to be assessed and approved as part of the authorization process.”
The EMA statement added: “Should we receive a marketing authorization application for Covishield or should any change to the approved manufacturing sites for Vaxzevria be approved, we would communicate about it.”
