Following tensions between Amman and Tel Aviv over the refusal to allow the Jordanian Prince to enter Al-Aqsa Mosque, Zionist sources reported that the regime’s prime minister had not responded positively to Amman’s request to export more water to Jordan.
Occupied Palestinian newspapers reported that relations between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Jordanian King Abdullah II had entered a new phase of tension after Netanyahu rejected Jordan’s request to export water and refuse to help Jordan in the fight against Corona.
Al-Arab newspaper website quoted the Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz as saying today (Saturday) that Netanyahu had refused to respond to Jordan’s request to export water from occupied Palestine to the country.
Haaretz reported that despite water experts and military officials advising that Jordan’s request be granted, But Netanyahu “did not respond positively” to the request.
The newspaper further wrote that Netanyahu’s strategy shows the depth of the crisis between “Israel” and Jordan; A crisis that is partly related to the personal conflict between Netanyahu and Abdullah II.
Under the peace agreement signed between Amman and Tel Aviv in 1994, the Zionist regime regularly transports water from the Jordan River to Jordan, which often requests more water when faced with a wave of drought; A request that Tel Aviv had agreed to before the new crisis.
Jordan is one of the least water-rich countries in the world, with about 40 percent of its resources being shared waters, including a shared water source with occupied Palestine from the Jordan River and Yarmouk.
Haaretz claimed in another part of its report that Jordanians are angry with Tel Aviv for another reason i.e, the country wanted Tel Aviv to deliver the Corona vaccine to Jordan to fight the recent wave of the Coronavirus that swept the country but this aid was not spared on Netanyahu’s orders.
