Erdogan: We will have military operations in Syria and we are not worried.
While acknowledging that his country is ready for military operations in Syria, the Turkish president said that Ankara is not in any hurry for this.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan admitted that his country’s authorities are preparing for a military operation in northern Syria and that everything may happen suddenly.
According to the report of “Russia Allium” news site, Erdogan told reporters: “I want to say about this issue, we can do this [military operations in Syria] at night and suddenly; There is no need to worry and there is no need to rush.”
The President of Turkey added: “We are currently working on this matter and as you know, on the one hand, we started a military operation in northern Iraq, and on the other hand, we are also conducting operations in Afrin, northern Syria.” Sometimes we show a little patience [in stopping operations]; But I hope we can carry out these operations in the most powerful way at the right time.”
These statements are made by Erdogan while he is running for the Turkish presidential election and in the meantime, he is competing with his opposition parties and representatives in Ankara.
The authorities of Syria and Iraq also continue to react to Erdogan’s statements. Recently, Ayman Sosan, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria, emphasized that the President of Turkey is seeking to export his political and social problems abroad.
“Mohammed Hossein Bahrul Uloom”, Iraq’s representative at the United Nations, also presented Baghdad’s official complaint against Turkey to the United Nations Security Council two months ago and demanded the withdrawal of all Turkish forces from his country.
