According to Anatoly, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned the international community on Tuesday (September 21st) in his speech at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly that the Syrian crisis would continue.
“The international community can no longer allow the Syrian crisis to continue for another ten years,” he said.
He dismissed rumors that the Turkish government was exploiting them, calling discrimination against terrorist groups in Syria unacceptable.
Emphasizing that Turkey lacks the patience and capacity to deal with the new wave of migrants, Erdogan added that Turkey “saved the dignity of humanity in the Syrian crisis.”
The Turkish president also spoke about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, saying that the peace process and the prospect of a two-state solution must be revived immediately.
He also noted the need to put aside the mentality that ignores Turkey, noting that it has the longest coastline in the eastern Mediterranean.
Regarding climate change, Erdogan said, “Although it is possible to prevent coronary heart disease through vaccination, there is no laboratory solution to climate change.”
The Turkish president also said that anyone [or rather any country] that has caused the most damage to the earth, and ruthlessly exploited its natural resources, should do its utmost to fight climate change.
He added that Turkey intends to submit the Paris Climate Agreement to its parliament in October this year in order to take constructive steps and announce cooperation.
Erdogan said Turkey will play its part in tackling climate change and protect the environment.
“At a time when tens of millions of people are trapped by the [corona] virus, the continuation of nationalist policies to vaccinate is a disgrace to humanity,” the Turkish president said in another part of his speech on the vaccination process around the world.
Erdogan also announced that Turkey would soon make the Covid-19 vaccine, known as Turkovac, available to the world.
