Erdogan: In 2053, we will make Turkey the world’s logistical superpower.
The President of Turkey announced that the country will become a logistics superpower in the world in the coming years.
The Turkish president claimed in a press conference on Tuesday evening, Tehran time, that he would turn his country into a “logistics superpower in the world” in 2053.
According to the Daily Sabah, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey has a clear path to become a logistical superpower. Erdogan added that Turkey seeks to be a logistical superpower geographically from London to Beijing, Siberia to South Africa.
“We have expanded our railway network from 1,0959 km to 13022 km,” the Turkish president said. “Our goal is to increase this figure to 28,590 km by 2053. By expanding high-speed train lines by 2053, we will increase the number of provinces connected by this system from eight to 52.”
Erdogan also announced the government’s plans to support employment in Turkey.
Meanwhile, the media reported that people in the Turkish city of Istanbul recently protested against the increase in public transport fares. In Istanbul, public transport fares have risen by 40 percent, and protests against the price increase have been going on for days.
On Saturday, a rally was held in front of a metro bus station in Istanbul. Some members of the HDP party took part in the rally. One of the women participating in the demonstration said that fares had been increased by 40%, effectively depleting traffic for a large part of Istanbul’s population.
