As the protests of the Muslims of the world intensified regarding the repeated desecration of holy places in Sweden, the British Foreign Ministry issued a statement condemning the desecration of a Holy Book.
The British Foreign Ministry has condemned the attack on the Holy Bible of the Muslims of the world in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
Media sources from London, the capital of England, reported that one of the spokespersons of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country reacted to the repeated desecration of Islamic holy places in Sweden and condemned this action.
According to the Anatolia news agency, the spokesman of the British Foreign Ministry announced in this statement that the government of this country condemns the tearing and burning of the Koran, the holy book of the Muslims of the world.
The British official said that such actions are “deeply offensive and completely inappropriate” for Muslims around the world, saying that the UK condemns hate speech against religion or belief.
The spokesman of the British Foreign Office added: “We will defend freedom of religion or belief for all and we promote mutual respect.” We understand the deep suffering of Muslims all over the world as a result of burning the Quran.
While the British Foreign Ministry has claimed that it is aware of the suffering of Muslims around the world, London’s colonial history in various Islamic countries and Britain’s participation in the 2003 American war of occupation in Iraq under the pretext of the presence of weapons of mass destruction has caused the public opinion of Islamic countries to have a very negative image of Britain.
During the last two weeks, with the permission of the Swedish authorities in the capital of this country and under the pretext of freedom of opinion, a Swede of Iraqi descent named “Salvan Momika” has insulted the Holy Quran. An action that has strongly provoked protest reactions from the authorities and people of Islamic countries.
On Thursday, Iraqi protesters attacked the Swedish embassy in Baghdad and set fire to a part of the embassy, reacting to the desecration of the Holy Quran. Following this action, the Swedish ambassador and other diplomats were first transferred to the American embassy and left Iraq on Friday (yesterday). The Iraqi government strongly condemned the desecration of Islamic holy places in Sweden and expelled the Swedish ambassador from Baghdad.
