England: China will become our biggest challenge by 2030.
The top British intelligence official said that China will become the “biggest challenge” to the country’s foreign interests and economic security by 2030.
“Adrian Bird”, the head of the British Defense Intelligence Agency, claimed that China will become the “biggest challenge” to London’s economic security and foreign interests by 2030.
According to the Press Association news agency, this high-ranking British intelligence official in a speech accused China of trying to disrupt the supply chain of technologies and important materials related to them, and said London should be alert to “China’s challenges.”
Adrian Baird also claimed that his country faces a “growing threat” from the Chinese military and spies.
Before the British intelligence official’s speech, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak claimed that China is the “greatest challenge of the era” and “the only country with the necessary intentions and tools to change the shape of the world order.”
According to this English news agency, several members of the British Parliament have increased the pressure on the Sunak government to take a more aggressive stance towards China, including labeling Beijing a “threat to British security”.
Despite his accusations against China, Sunak has called it necessary to interact with this country on various issues.
In a speech to members of the United Kingdom’s “Royal United Services Institute”, Adrian Bird went on to accuse Russia and claimed that this country “remains in the Euro-Atlantic region as the biggest threat to British soil until 2030.”
He also added that what is becoming increasingly clear is that Europe’s security “is inseparable from the security of the world as a whole, whether in the area of the results of government activities, whether in the area of climate change or in the area of concerns about global health.”
In November last year, during the participation in the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia, the British Prime Minister claimed that China has posed a systematic challenge to the values and interests of his country and represents the “biggest government threat to the economic security” of his country.
