Cohen Explains Why Meeting Between Arab Countries And Tel Aviv Postponed.
According to Sputnik, Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen admitted that the reason for the postponement of the meeting between some Arab countries and Tel Aviv in Morocco, which is known as the Negev 2 meeting, is the decision of this regime to expand settlements in the West Bank.
He further claimed that this meeting can be a step forward in the normalization of relations with Arab countries.
Cohen added: America plays a pivotal supporting role in holding this meeting.
A few days ago, in the first official reaction to the postponement of the Negev 2 meeting, which was supposed to be held between the officials of some Arab countries and the Zionist regime, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita emphasized that the meeting may be postponed until after the summer.
He further added: We in Morocco still want to hold this meeting due to the importance of a political process to achieve the desired results. Morocco’s foreign minister did not set a specific date for the Negev 2 meeting.
The aforementioned meeting between the foreign ministers of the Zionist regime, the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt, and the United States was supposed to be held last March, but it was postponed four times due to the actions of the Zionist regime in Palestine and the anger of the participants towards the policies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet. It has been postponed.
The first meeting of the Negev in March 2022 was held in the Negev at the invitation of Yair Lapid, the then foreign minister of the Zionist regime, and with the presence of the foreign ministers of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Bahrain, and Egypt.
