China’s plan is to hold a meeting of Persian Gulf leaders with the presence of Iran.
The American newspaper Wall Street Journal announced in a report today: China is planning a meeting of the leaders of the Persian Gulf countries with the presence of Iran.
The report of this newspaper in this regard states: On Friday (last), China mediated to restore relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia after 7 years. According to Beijing’s announcement, a wider meeting between Iran and the 6 countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council, which had not been previously reported, is being planned for the end of this month.
In this regard, the report adds: The diplomatic initiative of “Xi Jinping” (President of China) shows that Beijing sees a central role for itself as a new power broker in the Middle East (West Asia); A strategic region where the United States has been the most influential foreign actor for decades.
The Wall Street Journal added: “With China’s lack of exclusive focus on energy and trade flows, this country’s influence on regional politics indicates that a new chapter in the competition between Beijing and Washington is underway.” The agreement between Saudi Arabia and Iran, which was signed behind closed doors in Beijing last week, will address some of the most sensitive issues between the two countries.
