China: We support the reconstruction and economic development of Afghanistan.
“Wang Wenbin”, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, announced in a press conference that the foreign minister of this country will participate in the fourth meeting of the foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
In response to the question of what China, as the third host of the meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors, expects from the upcoming meeting of this format, Wenbin said: China is eager to exchange views with the participants of this meeting on the current situation in Afghanistan in order to strengthen the consensus of the neighboring countries on the issue of Afghanistan. And specific efforts to achieve the results and consensus made in previous meetings, especially the China meeting, should be consolidated.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry continued: We support the interim government of Afghanistan and the people of Afghanistan in overcoming the problems and challenges they face to achieve peaceful reconstruction, economic development, security and stability.
He added: At the same time, China will also support a serious response to the world’s concerns about Afghanistan in order to provide more favorable conditions for the expansion of bilateral cooperation between Afghanistan and its neighbors and the transformation of Afghanistan into a regional communication network and the process of economic integration.
Wenbin also stated that Beijing hopes to make the region more peaceful, stable and prosperous through these joint efforts.
Before this, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced in an announcement that the review of the next steps for the political settlement of Afghanistan in view of the security situation and the growth of terrorism in Afghanistan is on the agenda of the meeting.
The fourth meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbors is scheduled to be held on Thursday, April 23, in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, with the presence of the foreign ministers of Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The third meeting of foreign ministers of Afghanistan’s neighboring countries was held in China on April 10 last year.
