Canada’s military plan to challenge China.
Canada plans to strengthen its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region with the aim of strengthening its potential to “challenge China”.
Canada’s Defense Minister Anita Anand said that Ottawa intends to strengthen its military presence in the Indo-Pacific region in line with its strategy to contain China’s growing influence.
According to “Sputnik” news agency, in a speech during the Halifax International Security Forum, the Canadian Defense Minister challenged Beijing and said: “We will challenge China whenever we have to and we will cooperate with China when necessary.”
Anand stated that Canada’s relationship with the countries of the Indo-Pacific region is very important for its security interests and also useful for advancing the goals related to economic issues and challenging environmental goals.
The Minister of Defense of Canada, whose country, along with other Western allies of Ukraine, has provided arms support to Kiev for Russia’s special military operations in this country in the past, pointed to the possibility of increasing the military budget of his country within the framework of a comprehensive and advanced policy and claimed: “Strategy We will position Canada as a leader in spreading peace and security in the region. “We will increase our military presence and strengthen our security and defense relations with partners and allies in the region.”
The Minister of Defense of Canada refused to provide more details of his country’s military plans for this region and said that the details of these plans will be revealed in the next few weeks.
In his speech at the opening of the Halifax International Security Forum, the Minister of Defense of Canada called for strengthening cooperation among allies and like-minded countries with his country. He also committed Canada to a joint military organization with the United States known as the North American Aerospace Defense Command.
