British defense minister resigned.
According to Al Jazeera, British Defense Minister Ben Wallace announced his resignation in a letter to the Prime Minister of this country.
At the same time, BBC reported that the new defense minister of this country is expected to be announced today (Thursday) by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
James Hippie, Minister of the Armed Forces, and John Glenn, the Secretary of the British Treasury, are among the people who have been introduced by the senior officials of the Conservative Party as possible replacements for Ben Wallace.
Meanwhile, the British Prime Minister’s office has not yet made any comments about Ben Wallace’s successor.
There are also reports that in addition to Hype and Glenn, a Conservative Party member who previously served as UK Defense Secretary may be asked to take on the role for a second time.
The Daily Telegraph newspaper claims that Liam Fox, who was the British Defense Minister in 2010 during the Prime Ministership of David Cameron, is the “main candidate” for this position.
