As clashes between the Taliban and the Kabul government escalated, the British Foreign Office changed its travel guide to Afghanistan and called on all its citizens to leave the country.
“At the moment, it is better for British nationals to leave Afghanistan through regular passenger flights, given the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan,” the ministry said in a statement.
British citizens have also been asked to contact the British Embassy in Kabul to finalize their itinerary.
Britain is concerned about the plight of its citizens, and the irresponsible withdrawal of foreign troops, led by the United States, from Afghanistan is destabilizing the country. For the past 20 years, the United States and NATO allies have justified military presence in Afghanistan under the pretext of maintaining security and helping the independence of the Afghan government and army. On the other hand, parts of Afghanistan have become a focal point for ISIS.
