Yemen’s Ansarullah condemned the US move to block access to al-Masira and other media outlets, calling it a sign that Washington’s claims to democracy and freedom of expression are false.
According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, “Mohammad Ali Al-Houthi”, one of the leaders of the Yemeni Ansarullah, reacted by tweeting to the US action against Al-Masira and some Iranian sites, saying: “This shows the effectiveness of these networks and sites.”
He added: “The blocking of the access of some TV channels, including Al-Masira, by the United States emphasizes that these media are effective.” Free media intimidates freedom-seeking regimes.
Al-Houthi said closing the masked media networks would expose false democracy and false slogans. The United States is moving toward full confrontation, even if it is to close all sites.
Meanwhile, Yemen’s Ansar al-Islam re-launched Al-Masira TV through a new link hours after it was shut down by the US Department of Justice.
The US Department of Justice recently shut down resistance networks and media outlets, including the official website of Hezbollah in Iraq, Al-Malumah News Agency and Iraqi Coff Media, Al-Alam, Al-Masira Yemen, Al-Lulu Bahrain, Palestine Al-Youm and Al-Kawthar.
Yemen’s Ansar al-Islam also called the US’ move nonsense, claim to freedom of expression and all the titles the United States inspires.
Al-Masira also said in a statement that it condemned the US government’s action to restrict access to Al-Masira’s website without prior justification and information.
The statement said: “According to the habit of banditry, the US government, without any justification or warning, blocked access to the Al-Masira network. Al-Masira continues its mission and confronts the piracy of the United States and Israel with all possible means.
Al-Masira said: “Blocking access to Al-Masira and other friendly sites shows again the absurdity of the slogan of freedom of expression and all the other titles that the United States carries, and that it is incapable of confronting the true word.”
The statement said: “We on the Al-Masira network are not surprised that anyone who supports and oversees the most heinous crimes against our nation stands against honesty and truth.” We reserve the right to sue the US Government.
