The Crown Prince of Saudia Arabia Bib Salman has sought to spy on various officials and personalities in Lebanon, including the Prime Minister.
A French publication has revealed that the governments of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have targeted Lebanese officials and personalities between 2018 and 2019 using the spyware of the Zionist software “Pegasus”.
The French newspaper Le Monde writes that the Lebanese prime minister, the president and several Lebanese Hezbollah officials have been spied on by Pegasus spy software.
The spies targeted Saad al-Hariri, a Lebanese cabinetmaker who resigned a few days ago, and Lebanese President Michel Aoun. Lebanese Foreign Minister Gibran Basil and Lebanese Central Bank Governor Riyad Salameh are other Lebanese politicians mentioned by Le Monde.
Ghassan bin Jeddou, director of Al-Mayadin TV, Ibrahim al-Amin, chairman of Hezbollah’s Lebanese political council, Hassan Khalil, former Lebanese finance minister, and Hassan Fazlullah, a member of the Al-Wafa Laqqawmah faction, are other prominent figures. Are targeted in this plan.
Officials in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have not responded to Le Monde’s request for comment on the report.
Le Monde, written by the Saudi government in recent years, has hacked the laptops of many celebrities through the Pegasus spy software at the behest of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Pegasus is one of the most powerful spyware in the world.
The report comes as research shows that the spyware was used to successfully hack 37 smartphones belonging to journalists, government officials and human rights activists from around the world.
