Biden’s claim: We targeted IRGC-affiliated groups in Syria.
According to Al Jazeera, “Joe Biden”, the President of the United States, informed the representatives of the Congress of this country about the attacks in Syria.
In this regard, Biden told the congressmen: “On March 23, our forces conducted strikes against militant facilities in eastern Syria in response to a series of attacks and threats.”
In his message to the US Congress, Biden claimed: “Precise attacks were carried out in Syria against facilities used by groups affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards.”
In a situation where US troops are illegally present as occupying forces in Syria, but Biden has claimed that the attacks of US forces in Syria were carried out in accordance with international laws and according to the use of the inherent right of self-defense.
Joe Biden also aimed to reduce the pressure and criticism of himself by claiming that the United States is ready to take more measures if necessary to deal with further threats or attacks.
Biden’s claim was raised while the US Army announced that six soldiers and a contractor injured in attacks on US military bases in Syria were transferred to Iraq for treatment.
US Central Command spokeswoman Abigail Hammock told the Iraqi Rudaw TV channel that one soldier and one contractor were treated in the capital Baghdad, and two soldiers were taken to Erbil in northern Iraq for medical care.
Hammock attributed the attack on US bases in Syria to Iranian-backed forces.
Also, Pentagon spokesman Pat Ryder announced on Friday that an attack with dozens of rockets targeted the US military base in Deir Ezzor province in eastern Syria. After this attack, the central command headquarters of the US forces announced that these forces have carried out an attack against some targets in Syria. Based on this report, the aforementioned headquarters announced: Yesterday, our forces responded to an attack that killed an American contractor and injured another contractor, in addition to injuring a number of soldiers.
The Central Command Headquarters of the US forces claimed that the attack carried out by these forces targeted the facilities affiliated with the resistance groups.
This headquarters also claimed: We remain in Syria to ensure the defeat of ISIS, so that security and stability return to the entire region. It is said that the recent American attacks on Deir ez-Zor in the form of the so-called international anti-ISIS coalition were retaliatory. After these attacks, “John Kirby”, the strategic relations coordinator of the White House National Security Council, announced that the US government is not looking for a military conflict with Iran. In this regard, he said: America is not looking for a war with Iran and a military conflict, but we will do what we have to do to defend our forces and facilities. Iran should also not support the attack on American interests.
This is while the American soldiers stationed in Syria have used all their efforts to escape Daesh elements and transfer them from Syrian prisons to Iraq along with providing assistance to other elements stationed in different parts of Syria.
