Biden: I got cancer thanks to oil refineries.
The president’s claim that he has skin cancer has left the White House scrambling to clarify that he was referring to a cancer he had treated before taking office.
US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday evening that he got cancer because of the activities of oil companies.
“That’s why I, and so many other people that we grew up with, have cancer, and that’s why we don’t have cancer,” said Biden, speaking in Massachusetts about the negative effects of oil refineries on people’s health. For the longest time, Delaware City had the highest cancer rate in the nation.”
According to the New York Post website, Biden’s comments forced the White House press office to quickly clarify that he was referring to skin cancer he had previously had and was treated for before taking office last year.
The remarks initially appeared to be an important health reference during a speech on global warming in which Biden described greenhouse gas emissions from oil refineries near his childhood home.
Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s doctor, published a report on his health last year, which did not mention that the US president was suffering from cancer.
O’Connor’s report suggested that Biden’s skin cancer, which has been treated, was more likely due to exposure to sunlight rather than exposure to chemicals used in the oil industry.
“It’s well established that Biden spent a lot of time in the sun in his youth,” O’Connor wrote of Biden, a former lifeguard.
Earlier, a survey in America showed that 62% of the people of this country believe that Biden is not suitable for the presidency and doubt his mental ability.
