Ansarullah: The Biden administration’s stance on Yemen is no different from Trump’s
Mohammed Abdul Salam, the spokesman for the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, stressed that the United States, through Oman, has presented an old plan to resolve the country’s crisis.
Abdul Salam told Al Jazeera that the US plan is not a new plan to resolve the Yemeni crisis; Because this plan was previously presented by the United States.
He added that Ansarullah wanted the ports and airports to be reopened before reaching a gradual ceasefire plan.
“Through the Omani mediator, we are waiting for the US response to our view on a solution [to the Yemeni crisis],” Ansarullah’s spokesman said.
“We are ready to negotiate when the human dimension is separated from the political and military situation,” Abdul Salam said, noting that the current US administration’s stance on the Yemeni war was no different from that of the previous administration.
He called on all Yemeni parties to start talks, saying Ansar al-Islam members had not had any direct meetings with the United States.
“Contact with Saudi Arabia continues and will change as events change,” the Ansarullah official stressed, emphasizing the need to halt military action and address humanitarian issues.
Abdul Salam said that Saudi Arabia is trying to destroy Yemen by preventing the import of petroleum products.
He concluded by pointing out that Riyadh has bombed Yemeni forces and people a thousand times in the past month, adding that if Riyadh stops its attacks, Yemen will also stop its drone and missile attacks.
In this regard, the World Food Program has previously warned that the Saudi coalition will continue to block fuel from reaching the port of Al-Hudaidah.
The organization stressed that Yemen’s severe fuel shortages have made the country’s food security catastrophic.
