Before joining the Arab League, we need to improve bilateral relations.
Syria’s foreign minister said in a statement about the country’s rejoining the Arab League that we must first improve bilateral relations with other countries.
In his interview, Faisal al-Maqdadi said: “It is not possible to join the Arab League before improving bilateral relations with other countries.”
It should be noted that after the meeting of Hossein Amir Abdollahian and Faisal bin Farhan, the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia in Beijing, the process of improving relations between the Arab governments of the region will continue at a faster pace.
In this regard, just a few days after the announcement of Saudi Arabia’s intention to invite Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to the Arab League meeting after Eid al-Fitr; Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Moqdad went to Saudi Arabia to meet Saudi officials.
Also, Syria and Tunisia announced a few days ago in a joint statement that in response to the initiative of Tunisian President Qais Said to appoint a Tunisian ambassador in Damascus, Syria also intends to reopen its embassy in Tunisia and appoint an ambassador for it.
After the defeat of Salafi-Takfiri terrorism in most of the occupied areas of Syria, one of the great missions of Bashar al-Assad is the normalization of diplomatic relations with neighboring countries and especially Arab countries.
