Will the US return the occupied Golan to Syria? Report by The Beacon website.
The United States has reopened the case of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, with some media outlets reporting that the Biden administration may withdraw from recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Syrian Golan.
According to the Washington Free Beacon website, US President Joe Biden, in a remarkable and contradictory move with the previous administration, may withdraw from recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights of Syria.
In this regard, the Washington Free Beacon website quoted a US State Department official as saying that the Golan Heights do not belong to anyone and that governance varies based on changes in the region.
The US position has caused concern to the Zionist regime, and an Israeli political source, explaining the report, which was also published by the Israeli Channel 20, said: “The Golan Heights issue has not been raised in any negotiations with the Americans and is part of Israeli territory.” It will remain under Israeli rule forever.
The recent statements of the United States require a little reflection because the US strategy in the region is based on preferring and supporting the Israeli enemy, and US policy with the Zionist regime is consistent in every detail and to the detriment of the Arabs in all circumstances.
An issue that should not be overlooked is that the previous US administration supported the Zionists in the region in any way that its members still continue to do, as former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo did. In a conversation with the US base, the United States strongly criticized the new US position, saying that the new administration is wrong in reading the history and internal security needs of the Israeli government.
But Damascus, which had previously denied Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’s remarks, insisted that the Arab and Syrian Golan Heights would remain and that international law had emphasized its opposition to the decision to annex the Golan Heights to Israel.
A Syrian Foreign Ministry source said that Syria’s struggle to return the occupied Golan Heights in various ways is a legal right guaranteed by all international treaties and that US officials will never be able to violate it. Because this right and sovereignty of Syria are determined by the Syrians, ie its owners, and the struggle for liberation is a covenant that the Syrians have made with themselves and will not fall short of it, as Syria was able to occupy more than 80% of its lands. To free itself from the clutches of US and Israeli-backed terrorist groups, it can now liberate all of its territories, including the occupied Golan.
