Bashar Assad: The West used Ukraine as a tool.
In the meeting with the Russian President’s special envoy, the Syrian President said that America and the West created the global political and economic crisis and caused instability at the global level.
Syrian President Bashar Assad hosted Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy Alexander Lavrentinov and his delegation on Tuesday evening.
The official Syrian news agency (SANA) reported that in this meeting, Assad and Lavrentinov discussed the return of Syrian refugees and the measures taken in this regard, and the ideas and proposals that have been raised at the level of Arab and international countries to solve this problem.
The European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection recently announced in a report that the number of Syrian refugees in Jordan is 660,000, and 66% of them live below the poverty line. According to these statistics, Jordan hosts the largest number of Syrian refugees after Turkey and Lebanon.
The parties also discussed Turkey’s stubbornness in withdrawing from Syrian lands and humanitarian aid to Syrian citizens. Citizens who live in areas occupied by terrorist groups.
Bashar Assad said in this meeting: America and the West created the global political and economic crisis and caused instability at the global level. The goal of these countries is to destroy the position of Russia and its presence at the international level, and in this regard, they used Ukraine as a tool.
Pointing out that the livelihood, social and economic effects of the Ukraine crisis on the West and America are deepening, he said: Russia’s stability in its positions towards the West and America is one of the factors that promises the birth of a multipolar world. All countries and nations look to it, which seeks to defend their sovereignty, national interests and independence in their decisions.
Lavrentinov also emphasized that Russia will also support Syria to return security and stability to the Syrian nation, and cooperation between the two countries will continue until the dignified return of Syrian refugees. Therefore, Russia is categorically against the politicization of this case.
Bashar al-Assad hosted Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman al-Safadi on July 12th, and the parties discussed the return of Syrian refugees and bilateral relations between “Aman” and Damascus. Assad said that the safe return of Syrian refugees to their cities and villages is the priority of the Syrian government.
Emphasizing the need to provide infrastructure for the return of the refugees, the Syrian president emphasized: All the measures taken by the Syrian government in the field of legislation or legal or reconciliation will provide a more suitable platform for the return of the refugees.
He also said that the issue of refugees is a purely human and moral issue that should not be politicized. Al-Safadi also explained Jordan’s efforts in the field of returning refugees and new ideas that have been proposed in this field.
On March 23, Jordan announced a new plan and initiative to solve the Syrian crisis, which emphasized the principle of Arab countries’ participation in this issue. Many Arab countries, even Qatar, welcomed Jordan’s initiative.
Jordan’s proposed plan sees an attempt to gradually change the behavior of Damascus in exchange for incentives that are carefully adjusted for the interests of the Syrian people, and whose purpose is to implement a political solution and try to win the support of Syria.
