Bashar al-Assad: The role of the UAE in the Middle East is positive and active.
According to the information base of the Syrian presidency, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held official talks at Al-Watan Palace in Abu Dhabi with the presence of official delegations from the two countries.
In these negotiations, bilateral relations and how to strengthen them, positive developments in the region and their importance, as well as economic cooperation between the UAE and Syria were discussed.
During this meeting, Bashar Assad said: The positions of the UAE have always been rational and moral, and its role in the Middle East is positive and active.
He added: This role is in line with Syria’s view on the necessity of strengthening relations between Arab countries and joint Arab action, which unites Arab countries and their nations and fulfills their interests.
The President of Syria emphasized: cutting ties is a wrong principle in politics. Relations between Arab countries should be fraternal and healthy.
In this meeting, Bashar Assad thanked Mohammed bin Zayed and the government and people of the UAE for supporting the Syrian earthquake victims and described it as important in reducing the consequences of the earthquake.
He added: Although this tragedy is painful for Syrians, the widespread solidarity of the brothers had a great effect in reducing this painful situation.
On the other hand, Mohammad bin Ziyad Al Nahyan emphasized the importance of Syria’s return to the Arab world and the strengthening of relations between Arab countries, which will benefit the nations.
Bin Zayed emphasized that the UAE stands by Syria and sympathizes and supports the Syrian nation in dealing with the consequences of war and earthquake.
He announced the continuation of UAE aid to Syria in this regard.
