Bashar al-Assad issued a general amnesty for all.
The Syrian president issued a new decree on Saturday amnesty for terrorist crimes.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Saturday issued Legislative Decree No. 7 for 2022, which is about amnesty.
The Syrian President’s Office issued a statement announcing that the decree is about a general amnesty for terrorist crimes that took place before the 10th of May this year.
The official Syrian News Agency (SANA) quoted the statement as saying that the amnesty did not include crimes that resulted in the death of a person, as well as the Counter-Terrorism Law No. 19 issued in 2012 and the Penal Code No. 148 issued in 1949.
The statement also stressed that the amnesty in general has no effect on personal litigation and that the injured party can file a lawsuit in court, which is effective from the date of issuance.
Bashar al-Assad also issued a general amnesty order last February, which included pardoning all those who had fled military service inside and outside Syria.
The Syrian presidential amnesty included the following:
A) Full amnesty for those who have fled military service inside Syria, in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 61 issued in 1950.
B) Full amnesty for those who have fled military service outside Syria, in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 61 issued in 1950.
According to the decree, the amnesty does not include fugitives and fugitives from justice, unless those inside are present within three months and those outside Syria within four months.
In this regard, the Syrian presidency in October 2019 issued a government decree on military sanctions. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad issued a decree calling for a general amnesty for all those who have fled military service in the country. The plan included amnesty for all those convicted under Military Service Law No. 30 of 2007.
