Bashar al-Assad is the winner of the Syrian war.
According to Arabi 21, “Ahmad Abul Ghait”, Secretary General of the Arab League, emphasized that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad won the battle in this country during his military superiority and the failure of the Syrian opposition to enter Damascus.
He added: It would have been better to give the Syrian regime a chance before rushing and suspending Syria’s membership in the Arab League.
Abul Ghait clarified: If I was in the Arab League at that time, it would have been impossible for me to allow such a thing to happen.
Regarding the meeting with Bashar al-Assad, he said: If Syria’s membership in the Arab League is activated again, I will meet with Bashar al-Assad, and before that, such a thing is not legally possible.
Abul Ghait continued: The desire of the Syrian regime to return to its seat in the Arab League has increased during the recent period, but this issue has not yet been finalized.
He added: Today, there are tendencies to establish bilateral relations with the Syrian government. During the meeting of the foreign ministers of the member countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council with the participation of Jordan, Egypt and Iraq in Jeddah, the issue of Syria’s return to the Arab League was raised, but the opinions were different.
This is while recently and after the agreement between Tehran and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia invited Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Moqdad to Riyadh in order to accept Syria step by step and return to the Arab world. He traveled to Damascus and met and talked with the president of this country, Bashar al-Assad. At the same time, Tunisia and Syria appointed their new ambassadors in the two countries.
