The barriers around the US Congress will be removed six months after the deadly attack.
More than six months after Donald Trump’s supporters stormed US Congress building, the operation to remove the latest extra-security barriers around Congress began on Friday.
According to the report, the decision to remove the remaining barriers around the building depends on the assessment of the current security situation and threats by the Congressional Police.
So far, more than 535 people have been charged with involvement in a deadly attack on the US Capitol. The January 6 attack was carried out by extremist Trump supporters. Five people, including a police officer, were killed in the attack.
Two police officers who took part in the operation to defend the building later committed suicide. More than 100 police officers were also injured.
