The Prime Minister of Iraq emphasized on Tuesday that Turkey’s encroachment on Iraqi territories and borders must be stopped.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani stressed on Tuesday that Turkey should stop encroaching on the territory and borders of this country.
He added: “Currently, we have three security, economic and water crisis cases with Turkey.”
Referring to the country’s 20 billion dollar trade exchange with Turkey, the Iraqi Prime Minister said: “The security problem with Turkey must be solved.”
For a long time, Turkey has been violating the territorial integrity of northern Iraq by claiming to confront the PKK terrorist group. The PKK group, which has been in military conflict with the Ankara government for the past 35 years, is recognized as a terrorist group by Turkey, the United States, and the European Union.
Ankara claims that the militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party are responsible for the deaths of more than 40,000 Turkish citizens, including women and children. But on the other hand, hundreds of villages have been depopulated due to Turkey’s attacks in northern Iraq and Syria.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense of Turkey announced on Sunday that two soldiers of the country’s army were killed in the operational areas of “Electric Fork” in northern Iraq.
In the statement of this ministry, it is stated that these two soldiers, one with the rank of an officer and the other a duty soldier, were seriously injured and taken to the hospital yesterday (Saturday) due to the explosion of a mine that was used by PKK elements. who died today
