Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Turkey’s denial of aggression is a bitter joke and said that Iraq will probably use the economic card in response to this attack.
In response to Turkey’s attacks on the country’s territory, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Ankara is responsible for this aggression.
Iraq’s official news agency (WAA) reported, quoting the country’s foreign ministry, that Turkey’s denial of aggression is a “bitter joke” and Iraq will probably use the economic card in response to this attack.
This Iraqi institution stated: So far, we have taken the strongest possible measures in line with diplomatic action. We have taken action to hold a special meeting of the Security Council to investigate this crime and issue an international resolution.
Baghdad stated that it is trying to prevent the repetition of these aggressions by taking a strong position and said: The recent aggression is the most dangerous aggression of Turkey to Iraq.
This Iraqi organization pointed out that Ankara is carrying out these measures under the pretext of pursuing elements of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and pointed out: “What Turkey says about the existence of an agreement that allows this country to infiltrate Iraq is not correct.”
The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs delivered a strong protest note to the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad this afternoon. In this note, while condemning Turkey’s attacks on “Dahuk”, Baghdad emphasized that Baghdad has the right to take any action against the aforementioned attacks based on international charters.
Baghdad stated that all Turkish forces should be withdrawn from the territory of Iraq and pointed out: Turkey should solve its internal problems away from the borders of Iraq. Iraq wants Turkey to officially apologize for this crime.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq noted that it will do its best to counter Turkey’s aggression.
Iraqi news sources reported yesterday evening that the Turkish army attacked the north of the country and hit a resort in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
