Ayman al-Zawahiri, who was bin Laden’s right hand and what did he do?
US President Joe Biden announced on Monday evening that Ayman al-Zawahiri, the leader of al-Qaeda, was killed in an airstrike in Kabul.
Al-Zawahiri was present at his home during the attack on July 31, but his death was met with a negative reaction from the Taliban and they condemned this American air operation.
In his speech, while announcing the news of Ayman al-Zawahiri’s death, Biden claimed that the attack did not harm Al-Zawahiri’s family and that no civilian was killed.
American sources announced that in 2022, the American intelligence services had identified the location of the Al-Qaeda leader’s residence and finally, after some time, carried out the operation of his physical removal.
